Graduation

Commencement Ceremony at the Centrium, Westerner Park,  1:00 pm to ~ 4:00 pm

Students arrive at 12:00 p.m. sharp at the Centrium entrance.  

Proceed to the lower level of the Centrium (beneath the spectator seating) and line up alphabetically.

Bring your cap, gown and stole

Wear the gown over top of appropriate clothing; something dressy, but cool temperature.  We suggest either a lightweight knee-length dress, or dress pants and white shirt without a jacket.  

Your face and neck, legs, and feet will show under the gown, so choose appropriate hairstyle, footwear, etc.

Suit jackets and formal dresses can be left with staff in a lounge in the lower level of the Centrium.  There will be spaces available for grads to change clothes following the ceremony.

Family and friends sit in the stadium seating.

The ceremony is open to family and friends at no cost, and there is no limit to the number of guests.  Seating opens at 12:00; limited wheelchair seating is available.  

A professional photographer will take a handshake photo .

We will have a professional photographer taking a handshake picture with each student and Mrs. Yaremchuk during the certificate presentation.    

These pictures will be sent to LCHS over the summer, and can be picked up in the late fall along with yearbooks.  The cost of this photo is included in the grad fee.

Only the Official Photographer will be allowed on the Centrium floor.

After the ceremony: ~ 4:00 to 4:30 pm

Change into formal clothing; there will be change space at the Centrium

Banquet, Program, and Dance at the Exhibition Hall, Westerner Park, 4:30 - 10:00

This is a ticketed event and formal attire is suggested.  The banquet has assigned seating (up to 8 guests/table).  Tickets are available to purchase through Parent Portal.

Doors open at 4:30 pm where the attending graduates will gather for a yearbook picture and then line up for the Grad Parade. The event begins at 5:00 with the Parade of Graduates.  Select 1-2 fellow Graduates that you would like to walk with.

After the Parade of Graduates, there will be a short program consisting of toasts to the graduating class and everyone who supported them. 

At the conclusion of the speeches we will have a delicious buffet meal, with coffee, tea, and water available through the evening. Please indicate any allergies and dietary concerns when purchasing tickets.

The Dance will run until 10:00 pm, beginning with a Graduate dance (dance with your date or friends) and two Parent dances (dance with your mom, dad, or other important adult). This portion will be hosted by a DJ so bring your dancing shoes!

Grad Committee Meetings are on Thursdays in Room 2016.

We will be discussing grade 12 grad events, grad clothing and possible fundraising opportunities.
